A hooded teenager enters a high school to shout “Allahu Akbar”, the theory of the privileged joke

Is this a bad joke? A stupid bet? In any case, this is the avenue favored by the Bonneville prosecutor’s office which opened an investigation on Thursday for “apology of terrorism”, after the arrest of a 16-year-old teenager.

The boy, “unknown to the law” and educated at the Guillaume Fichet high school in Bonneville, burst into one of the classes at his establishment the same day. With his face hooded, he started shouting “Allahu Akbar”.

Around a hundred soldiers deployed

Result: the 950 students were temporarily confined for two hours, “in accordance with the safety instructions applicable in this type of case”, indicates the prosecution in a press release. The national gendarmerie immediately deployed around a hundred soldiers from Haute-Savoie to secure the school and its surroundings and very quickly identify the suspect.

The events occurred around 3 p.m. The teenager was arrested four hours later “near his home”. He was placed in police custody for “advocating terrorism and psychological violence without incapacity to work in a school”.

“His motivations remain to be established but the hypothesis of a bad bet is emerging,” concludes Karline Bouisset, the Bonneville prosecutor.
