A history teacher from the Georges-Brassens high school in Évry was threatened with death via a letter on October 10, according to police and judicial sources, confirming information from BFM TV. The letter was submitted to the principal and contained threats against this professor of the Jewish faith, indicating that he was going to suffer the same fate as Samuel Paty.

“It’s a classic threatening letter, which alludes to the person’s Jewish religion,” says the judicial source. “There is probably no reason. It is not something usual, ”continues the same source, which specifies that an investigation was opened on Monday, for death threat with as an aggravating circumstance the membership, real or supposed of the victim to a specific religion. .

In the missive addressed to the Georges Brassens high school in Evry, published on social networks and authenticated by a police source, we can read: “The dirty Jew must stop being clever (…) We are going to do him ” a Samuel Paty” to him and his father the old Zionist rabbi”. “We don’t want Jews (sic) in high schools, stay in your synagogues. We will take care of (this teacher) when we leave the Lycée (sic)”, continues the letter.

The teacher’s home under surveillance

The urban security of the Evry police station is in charge of the file. The establishment was placed under police surveillance as well as the professor’s home with regular police patrols.

“When teachers or members of the educational community (…) are threatened (…), we intervene, first by firmly condemning any form of verbal or physical aggression”, but also with “functional protection “, reacted the Minister of National Education Pap Ndiaye, questioned by the press on the sidelines of a trip to Joinville-le-Pont (Val-de-Marne).

“Inadmissible, foul anti-Semitic hatred,” reacted on Twitter Isabelle Rome, Minister responsible for Equality between Women and Men.
