So there will be plenty of people to attend the Tokyo Olympics, from July 23 to August 8. Finally, only local spectators. And only if the health situation does not deteriorate again in Japan. This is the meaning of the press release released on Monday by the organizers of these Olympics. They have decided to allow the public with a 50% gauge on competition venues, and within a maximum limit of 10,000 people.

But the trials could take place behind closed doors if Covid-19 infections multiply again. To avoid such a scenario, the measures are more drastic than ever.

Angry india

In order to minimize the risk of contamination, Japanese organizers announced on Monday additional measures targeting athletes from countries, including India, which have suffered a “significant impact of variants” of the coronavirus.

Decisions qualified as “unjust” by the Indian Olympic Committee.
