During this, seven pleasure boats, including several belonging to the company of a nationalist militant, were destroyed by flames in Sagone in southern Corsica. And here too the investigators favor the criminal track.

Confirming information from France 3 Corse, the Ajaccio prosecutor Carine Greff specified “that an investigation of flagrance for destruction of property by dangerous means” had been opened. “The technical and scientific police are carrying out investigations to identify the number of fire starts. The biggest victim is a boat trip company. But for now, we don’t yet know who the main target was ”.

The most affected company is headed by Christophe Versini, a nationalist activist of Corsica Libera (independence movement). The movement, which presents a list in the territorial elections led by Jean-Guy Talamoni, president of the Corsican Assembly, has supported one of its members on social networks. “These abuses, the criminal origin of which does not seem to be in doubt at this time, are added to the list of pressures and violence suffered by Corsican society, of which no incantation or action by the State in our country has given us any information. have never sheltered, quite the contrary, ”writes Corsica Libera.

Gilles Simeoni, president of the Corsica community and candidate for the elections at the head of the competing list Femu a Corsica (autonomist) also gave his “support to Christophe Versini, activist of Corsica Libera, mainly targeted by the arson , as well as to all the victims of this destruction by fire ”. “We must oppose the deleterious climate which is worsening in Corsica the strength of democratic mobilization,” he added.
