A financing agreement must be signed on Tuesday between Île-de-France Mobilités and the State

It’s a victory for Valérie Pécresse. This Tuesday, the president of Île-de-France Mobilités (IDFM) must meet Minister Clément Beaune to sign an agreement on transport financing. After years of demanding a helping hand from the State to guarantee the proper functioning and extension work of the Ile-de-France network, the president of the region seems to have been heard.

According to Le Figaro, the State and the region would have found consensus on new future revenues for the Île-de-France transport authority. In addition to the increase in the mobility payment (VM), paid by Ile-de-France companies outside the greater suburbs, IDFM could recover a portion of the tourist tax paid by accommodated tourists and a reduction in the fee owed by IDFM to the Société du Grand Paris (SGP).

A Navigo pass for 86 euros?

The seven Ile-de-France departments and Paris would also see their contribution increase by more than 4% (2% plus 2024 inflation estimated between 2.6 and 2.8%). The region would increase its own contribution to a similar level.

All of this would limit the future increase in the Navigo pass to a little less than 3%, or a little more than two euros, to reach a price of 86 euros. A minor increase compared to that experienced by users at the start of 2023 (from 75.20 to 84.10 euros per month), which went badly. An amount which will be known next December, after its vote by the IDFM board of directors.
