A father sentenced for his son’s 96 days of absence from college

Parents, take note: a conviction is possible in the event of repeated absences of your child from a school. This is what a father living in Haute-Saône has just observed. The Vesoul judicial court sentenced him to a fine of 600 euros, including 300 euros of suspension, for the 96 days of college missed by his son between April 2022 and June 2023, reports The Republican East.

Aggravating circumstance? The father never responded to letters from the Dampierre-sur-Salon establishment, nor to those from the rectorate. He only explained himself to the police: according to him, his son simply no longer wanted to return to college but did not wish to change either. The child is now educated in a rural family home (MFR).
