Apartments and offices of the “last generation” are stormed at dawn, cupboards and bed drawers are searched. The only suspicion is that it is causing traffic jams. The paragraph that makes this brutal action possible should be clipped.

At dawn on Wednesday, Bavarian criminal investigators launched a huge investigation, an eavesdropping, spying and rooting attack on a broad front and with nationwide proportions. They had apartments broken into, they let flashlights shine into the most private parts, into bedrooms, into cupboards, and they made it clear to the people standing in front of them in their pajamas that their privacy was being invaded and telephone conversations might have been overheard and were saved.
