“A crazy thing”… Cyprien Sarrazin tames the Streif again, give him the little globe

Complicated to do better than the day before? No way ! Already winner of the Kitzbühel downhill on Friday, Cyprien Sarrazin did it again, with an impressive race, especially at the top of the course. While he was only ahead of Marco Odermatt by five hundredths on Friday, the Gapençais did not give details on the Streif this Saturday, beating the Swiss by almost a second.

“My run was not perfect,” confided Cyprien Sarrazin after his first victory in Austria. I made a few mistakes at the top, I felt it was going to be limited. […] It didn’t come down to much, five hundredths, it’s really nothing but it’s ahead. Tomorrow [ce samedi] I know what I have to do, I know I can do better. I will try to recover well, but I am not putting limits on myself. »

“I had fun”

Indeed, Cyprien Sarrazin, who started with bib 8, did better, much better. “More than the victory, today, there was THE run,” he reacted at the end of the race, on Eurosport. The run was incredible, I enjoyed myself from top to bottom, I felt there was speed. In the run, like in Bormio, I felt like I had done something crazy. »

So much so that the skier from Hautes-Alpes, who also won the Super-G in Wengen (Switzerland), a week ago, put on a show. On arrival, he took off his skis and climbed on the advertising panels to celebrate his descent with the public. In the general classification of the small downhill globe, Sarrazin is six points behind Odermatt.
