A crack seller arrested in a square in La Villette

Crack users, who had occupied Square Forceval (19th) for nearly a year, were dislodged a week ago during a high-profile police operation. The day before, the investigators of the regional transport security arrested more discreetly a man suspected of being at the head of drug trafficking partly feeding the many drug addicts installed in this camp, which poisoned the lives of the inhabitants of the district.

The police from the Ile-de-France networks brigade had spotted this “modou” several months ago. They suspected him of selling crack at the Porte de la Villette metro station and in the square opposite Place Auguste-Baron. Already known to their services for acts of the same nature, he managed to escape on several occasions from the police who were carrying out operations in the camp. But on October 4, he was finally arrested after being observed with a client, found in possession of a crack stone.

300 trades

In his backpack were found around 900 euros. Placed in police custody, he admitted selling crack in the sector since August 2021. Investigators managed to formally implicate him in more than 300 transactions. An obligation to leave French territory was notified to him before his referral. The suspect was remanded in custody.
