The day after the deconfinement of the terraces, a cluster was confirmed by the ARS Nouvelle Aquitaine this Thursday evening in the Port-Maritime Bacalan district, in Bordeaux. About thirty people of various ages are concerned.
“Faced with a relatively rapid spread of the virus within the population of these neighborhoods, extensive investigations are underway, coordinated by the Regional Health Agency and the contact tracing platform of the Health Insurance Fund (CPAM of the Gironde) ”, writes the ARS in its press release.
Which variant?
It is not yet clear what type of variant it is. But according to our information, the presence of the Indian variant is considered. Sequencing is currently being carried out by the Bordeaux University Hospital, the results should soon be confirmed by the Lyon National Reference Center.
In order to prevent contamination, a screening operation is organized for the population of the district concerned from this Friday at the Pierre Tachou communal room, 58 rue Joseph Brunet in Bordeaux. This operation will last a whole week, the inhabitants will be able to be tested for free, every day from 9 am to 6 pm.
