A bakery in the Pink City illustrates a Russian article on the shortage in Europe

“Europe lacks food. This is the title of a article published yesterday on the RIA Novosti website, one of Russia’s largest news agencies, described as a Kremlin propaganda arm. The latter addresses the issue of inflation, but also the price of fuel, to which are added the problems of cereal harvests. And to predict that social anger is brewing in the face of these shortages, which could easily be blamed on the Russians.

The agency chose to illustrate its article a photo of customers queuing in a Toulouse bakery, at the Victor-Hugo covered market. When you look closer, you are far from the rush to get your bread but rather in the atmosphere of a morning like there are so many in this market in the hypercentre of the Pink City.

The mayor of Toulouse, Jean-Luc Moudenc, did not fail to react to this choice of photo, taken from a report by Agence France press on the market on October 14 where we see several professions of Illustrated mouths. “Let our Russian friends be reassured, the queue at the Beauhaire bakery, at the Victor-Hugo market, is only due to the quality of the work of our traders, acclaimed by the people of Toulouse”, tackles with irony the aedile.

Moreover, if we look more closely, the window of said bakery is well stocked, far from a shortage which is discussed throughout the article.
