A 15-year-old boy found dead after “discomfort in the toilets” of his high school

The context of this death “is absolutely not clearly defined”, insists the public prosecutor of Reims, François Schneider. A 15-year-old teenager was found dead on Tuesday in the toilets of a private high school in Reims (Marne), the Saint Jean-Baptiste de La Salle vocational high school, the prosecutor said on Wednesday, confirming information from France 3 Champagne-Ardenne.

This student “died in the toilets of the boarding school” but “no suspicious traces” were found on the body and “the cause of death is unknown”, adds François Schneider.

“A young person who was searching” for himself

The student felt “uncomfortable in the toilets”, said Didier Tilly, the director of the establishment specializing in audiovisual training, who added that no pill was found in his room. Found in a coma, he died at 8:15 p.m., according to a police source. An investigation into the causes of death was entrusted to the Reims police, the prosecutor said. An autopsy is scheduled for Thursday.

He was “a young person who was researching” himself, “who was questioning himself like many young people of his age”, explained Didier Tilly. The high school is open this Wednesday morning, and a psychological unit has been set up in agreement with the diocese.
