For aiding and abetting revenge murder: 24-year-old must be in prison for a long time
In Cologne, a 24-year-old has been sentenced to several years in prison for aiding and abetting a revenge murder. It is not the first judgment after the bloody dispute between two large families.
After a deadly argument between two extended families in Cologne, another defendant has been convicted. The regional court in the cathedral city imposed a prison sentence of seven and a half years on a 24-year-old man, the court announced on Thursday. The man was therefore convicted of aiding and abetting a revenge murder. The verdict came late Wednesday.
On Tuesday, a 32-year-old was sentenced to life imprisonment for joint murder. He and around 30 other attackers are said to have killed a 37-year-old in a dispute between two large families. The attackers killed the victim because of family members, according to the indictment.
Second proceedings before the district court of Cologne
The now convicted 24-year-old was accused of wanting to prevent the 37-year-old, who was already critically injured, from escaping. In this case, further parallel proceedings are pending before the district court.
