Fatal accident on farm: 19-year-old trapped by fertilizer spreader

A 19-year-old died in an accident on a farm in Duvensee, Schleswig-Holstein. The cause and course of the accident are now the subject of investigations.
Fatal accident in Duvensee in the Duchy of Lauenburg district in Schleswig-Holstein: On Wednesday, a 19-year-old was trapped and fatally injured on a farm by a fertilizer spreader. According to current knowledge, the accident happened when the 19-year-old was doing repair work on the agricultural machine, said a police spokeswoman. The fertilizer spreader lowered on Wednesday for reasons that have not yet been clarified and trapped the 19-year-old. The man died at the scene of the accident, pastors cared for witnesses and helpers on site.
Fatal accident in Duvensee: Investigations into the cause are ongoing
The public prosecutor’s office in Lübeck commissioned an expert to clarify how the accident happened. Local media reported that a technical defect in the form of a burst hydraulic hose may have caused the spreader mounted on the rear of a tractor to lower. This assumption has not yet been confirmed. The Ratzeburg criminal police took over the further investigations.
