Emmanuel Macron in Lyon to support gastronomy and health

Emmanuel Macron’s last trip to Lyon dates back to June 2020, where he visited the Sanofi Pasteur vaccine production laboratories in Marcy-l’Etoile. It is a new health visit that the President of the Republic returns to the capital of Gaul, this Sunday and Monday, September 27, since it will be a question of WHO, but also of gastronomy.

Sunday evening, Emmanuel Macron will participate in the Grands Chefs dinner organized on the occasion of Sirha. A dinner that brings together several renowned chefs, artisans in the catering trade and economic and institutional players participating in their influence. Traffic will remain limited today in the Prefecture district, vehicles and pedestrians included.

Two key sectors of French influence

Monday morning, the president will go to Sirha, where he will encourage the French candidate for the Bocuse d’Or, Davy Tissot, before meeting the professionals of the gastronomy and the catering, heavily impacted by the Covid-19 crisis, in particular small businesses.

In the afternoon, Emmanuel Macron will chair the installation ceremony of the World Health Organization academy at the Cité internationale. This new international training center for health careers will open in 2023 in a 10,600 m2 high-tech building in Gerland.
