There have been occasions on which the Federal Constitutional Court has been loudly accused of encroaching on the domain of the legislature. That was the case a few years ago with the right to vote, for example. On the other hand, the occasions on which the parties place themselves in the hands of the Karlsruhe court with almost negligent trust, out of sheer inability to act themselves, are less visible.
