What is the point of seeing “The Phantom Menace” again in the cinema, 25 years later?

We already know the ending, we even already know the rest of the ending, and the rest of the rest of the ending… In short Star Wars, Episode I: The Phantom Menace returns to the cinema to celebrate its 25th anniversary. For the record, this is Episode I but not at all the first Star Wars film. Indeed, The Phantom Menace inaugurates what fans call the “prelogy”, the trilogy of films, released between 1999 and 2005, which recounts the events occurring several years before those of the trilogy released between 1977 and 1983. To make it short, it is about tell the story of the youth and adolescence of the future Darth Vader.

At the time of its theatrical release, the highly anticipated film divided fans. Some were excited to be able to discover a new Star Wars film on the big screen (especially those who were too young or not born at the time of the first trilogy). Others, quite numerous, were bitterly disappointed by the quality of the film and the plot.

25 years later, The Phantom Menace returns to the cinema while this prelogy signed George Lucas has been rather well re-evaluated by fans. As time passes, many of them now feel a sweet nostalgia for the film. A generation of fans even considers this prelogy as the best of the three trilogies (counting the postlogy, episodes 7, 8 and 9 released by Disney).
