1 – Choose the location of your office

2 – Choose a space with a window
To have an office area suitable for teleworking, the ideal is to sit near the window, or even directly opposite.
In the first place, being near a window allows you to benefit from a generous amount of natural light, which is much more pleasant to work with than artificial light.
Having a window has an additional advantage in terms of comfort. Glued to a screen located at a fixed distance, the eyes tire quickly. It is therefore recommended to turn away from it from time to time, and to look into the distance: a simple and effective exercise to preserve your sight!
3 – think about storage
Working from home most often involves keeping a lot of files and documents. The ideal is to be able to store them in good conditions, without ruining the decoration.
Cabinets with facades are a simple and efficient way to store your business documents while keeping your space neat and organized.
Metal lockers remain a safe bet, especially since these professional-style storage compartments are very trendy: you will therefore easily find a model whose format and color are adapted to your interior!
Are there children at home? Beware of small handcuffs always looking for paper to fold or smear! Consider adopting a lockable storage: this will prevent your professional documents from getting revamped by budding artists!
5 – Focus on comfortable furniture
Of course, it is important that your office area is in harmony with your interior, especially if you have integrated it into a living space like the living room. However, you must not lose sight of the imperatives in terms of comfort and safety.
To arrange your office area, there is no question of neglecting the central room. Invest in an office with dimensions adapted to your needs. The main criteria to take into account are the height and the available work surface. Some storage is also very practical to keep a well-ordered workstation.
The chair is another essential piece of equipment because it helps protect your back. To set up a corner dedicated to teleworking, there is no question of giving in to the temptation of a 100% decorative choice: it is essential to have an authentic office chair. 6 – Take care of the lighting
Even setting up the desk by the window, it is impossible to rely exclusively on natural light to work in comfort. It is therefore essential to think carefully about the lighting of your workstation.
The articulated desk lamp is a classic choice because it is extremely practical. It is all the more appreciable as it comes in a wide variety of designs, and thus brings a very decorative touch to your office area.
To avoid cluttering the desk, bet on another safe bet: wall lights. The smartest are the double models, equipped with articulated arms: not only are they practical, but they also display a sharp look.
Depending on the configuration of your office, you can adopt the pendant lights, which offer you functional direct lighting.
Remember to equip your luminaires with suitable bulbs: you must have lighting powerful enough to read and write comfortably, without being too powerful and tiring for the eyes. The ideal is to opt for a medium temperature, neither too hot nor too white, between 2700 and 3000 K.
7 – The decorative touch
The choice of colors is an important point in furnishing your office area, because they have an influence on your state of mind. Peaceful, blue is particularly recommended for people easily affected by stress. Brown, beige and more broadly neutral colors are conducive to reflection. More dynamic, orange promotes creativity.
