The preferred theory is that of a homicide, followed by a suicide. The bodies of a 60-year-old man and his 33-year-old daughter were found at their home in Breil-sur-Mérize (Sarthe), the Le Mans prosecutor’s office announced on Wednesday. These two people had never attracted the attention of the courts, and have no criminal record. According to the newspaper West Francethey were very discreet people.
During the night from Tuesday to Wednesday, “the Sarthe emergency services received a telephone call during which a man indicated that he had killed his daughter,” reports the public prosecutor of Le Mans, Delphine Dewailly.
The use of a firearm
“Alert, the police immediately went to the scene and discovered two lifeless bodies inside the home. The preferred thesis, in view of the first elements collected, is that of the intentional homicide of the young woman by her father who then killed himself using the same firearm,” she continues.
What is certain is that there is no evidence to suspect the intervention of a third party. The investigation continues to find out what could have happened in the pavilion. “The motive for this fatal act has not been fully established at this time, and the gendarmes are continuing the investigations,” concludes the magistrate.
