56% of residents criticize Grégory Doucet for being the subject of controversy, 53% satisfied with his action

What do the Lyonnais think of their mayor Grégory Doucet? A new poll Ipsosmade this time for the magazine Lyon Capital and published Thursday evening, reveals that 53% of citizens say they are “satisfied” with its action. Figures that contrast with a first survey, published three weeks ago, and in which 67% of the inhabitants said they were clearly “dissatisfied”.

35% of respondents would vote for a Nupes list, led by the elected environmentalist, if the first round of municipal elections were to take place on Sunday. Which would put him in the lead ahead of David Kimelfeld (the former president of the metropolis of Lyon) credited with 23%, and Pierre Oliver, the LR mayor of the 2nd arrondissement, who would get 21%.

Too many controversies?

However, the personality of the mayor deeply divides the respondents. In other words, Grégory Doucet is not unanimous. 51% of those questioned believe that he does not “take relevant political positions” and 56% also accuse him of “being the subject of many controversies”.

At the end of January, the elected official had drawn the wrath of the Jewish community of Lyon, accusing him of having invited the Franco-Palestinian lawyer Salah-Hamouri to a round table on the 30th anniversary of the Oslo Accords. Round table finally canceled. His remarks on the Tour de France, at the start of his mandate, had also aroused controversy.
