Kiel is worried about leading the table after a 2-1 defeat against Braunschweig
At first it looks like Kiel’s dream start: Skrzybski scores from 60 meters. But then things no longer work for the league leaders. Braunschweig celebrates an important victory.
Steven Skrzybski’s beautiful long-range goal had no effect: Holstein Kiel has to worry about taking the lead in the 2nd Bundesliga. At the start of the second half of the season, the promotion candidate suffered a bitter 1:2 (1:1) against relegation candidate Eintracht Braunschweig.
Skrzybski hits from almost 60 meters
Skrzybski (11th minute) initially delighted the Kiel crowd with his goal from almost 60 meters. However, Fabio Kaufmann (43rd) and Rayan Philippe (57th) really annoyed the weakened hosts. Philippe’s supposed second goal (80th) was canceled due to offside.
After a corner from the guests, Skrzybski grabbed the ball and tried his luck from a long distance. Braunschweig’s goalkeeper Ron-Thorben Hoffmann was completely surprised by Skrzybski’s unconventional idea and could not prevent the home team’s dream start. However, Eintracht got into the game better and better and deserved to win overall. Also because Hoffmann secured the three-point win twice in stoppage time.
