Ludwig Wappner may not have slept his way through the beds in the almost venerable Olympic Village, which is now half a century old, that would be several thousand, but the now 64-year-old architect knows four different types of accommodation from his own experience. Wappner, who came to Munich from Lower Franconia as a young student in 1982, first lived in a student house, then in a towering terrace house, finally in a maisonette apartment with a garden – and today, after 40 years of living in the Olympic Village, he lives in one of the coveted atrium bungalows.
