“1664” beer containing antifreeze massively recalled in Occitanie and New Aquitaine

Be careful if you have recently stocked up on beer for a party or relaxing evenings as the sunny days approach. Several batches of 1664 beer have been recalled since Thursday due to the presence of antifreeze in the drink.

The recall concerns nearly 200 Intermarché stores located only in Nouvelle-Aquitaine and Occitanie, the list of which is available here. According to the reminder sheet published on the official website Consumption reminderthe procedure targets several batches of 1664 Blanc, manufactured by Kronenbourg, and sold in 25 cl bottles marketed in packs of 12.

Nausea and vomiting if consumed

The beers, whose minimum durability date is set at 03/31/2025, were sold between April 3 and 10. “A check revealed an accidental presence of ethylene glycol [antigel] in beer,” we can read on the Rappel Conso website. “The product is unfit for consumption. »

“If consumed, the symptoms that may appear are nausea, abdominal pain, dizziness and vomiting,” specifies Rappel Conso. Customers are therefore invited not to consume the product. They can return the beer to the store and obtain a refund until June 10, the end date of the recall procedure.
