15 injured in accident with school bus on Martinsufer in Trier – SWR News

When a school bus crashed in Trier, the bus driver and 14 children and young people were injured. The city said so. There is an information telephone for parents who are looking for their children.

The school bus of the VRT line 25 drove head-on into a tree near the Kaiser Wilhelm Bridge in the morning. Line 25 runs from Ralingen via Olk, Trierweiler and Sirzenich to Trier. According to the police, there were 36 people on the bus. In addition to the bus driver, 35 school children, teenagers and one young adult.















14 passengers need to be treated in hospitals

According to the police, 14 of them were taken to hospital with injuries, some of them serious. But there are no life-threatening injuries. 22 other children were cared for in the nearby Toni Chorus sports hall. According to the city of Trier, the parents have now picked up all the children there. The collection point has been closed again. Around 120 rescue workers were deployed at the scene of the accident.

⚠️After the bus accident, all those affected are now either in the hospitals or back with their parents. The collection point in the Toni-Chorus-Halle is now closed.

Cause of accident still unclear
