Bigger, faster and better: tablets are currently experiencing a real boom. According to current statistics, the mobile PC is used in over 50 percent of all households in this country – and the trend is rising. But where does the interest come from?

The number of people using a mobile PC has risen rapidly in the last four years: if just over 15 million people owned a tablet in 2016, they did 2020 already more than 19 million. This suggests that the trend was not only triggered by the corona pandemic and the associated work in the home office. In fact, the growing interest could be based on a simple explanation: larger than a smartphone, but smaller – and above all more manageable – than a laptop, the mobile PC is a practical all-rounder for at home and on the go. Depending on the manufacturer, the common brands differ in terms of equipment and price. We therefore took a closer look at five different tablets with almost or a little over twelve inches and compared them with each other.

1. CHUWI UBook Tablet PC

At just under twelve inches, we are starting the introductory round with an inexpensive model: the CHUWI UBook tablet PC weighs just 800 grams and is therefore particularly suitable for working with it on the go. But the tablet also fulfills its purpose at home, as long as you “only” want to work with it – that is, write and read. The U-shaped kickstand, the integrated keyboard and the Hi Pen H3, which are included in the scope of delivery, are particularly practical. In addition to the charging connection, the model also has two USB 3.0 Type-A ports, a Micro-HDMI connection, a 3.5 millimeter jack plug, a micro-SD card slot and a USB Type-C port. Conclusion: Those who do not have too high demands on a tablet are well served with this.

A pen, a stand and a keyboard are also included here, which you can use when working on the move. With a weight of 740 grams, the tablet is also very light, but its battery (according to the manufacturer) lasts significantly longer than the cheaper model in this series. In addition to the 5 MP front camera, the mobile PC has a 13 MP rear camera. Conclusion: The model looks solid, but the consumer shouldn’t expect miracles here either. That makes writing a lot easier. This is made possible by four components: MOLED2 technology, the quad speaker system, a blue light filter and Dolby Atmos. The Tab S7 + makes gamer hearts beat faster, but is just as suitable for work. In addition, it is light as a feather at 575 grams. Netflix and Spotify, the Galaxy Store, pop-up play and Microsoft apps are also preinstalled on the mobile PC. Another highlight is the S Pen, which is included in the delivery and is magnetic.
