A child, a passenger on a motorcycle, died this Wednesday morning in a road accident in Pignan (Hérault), near Montpellier, the department’s firefighters said. This young boy, aged 11, was on the back of the two-wheeler, on the D5, when he fell, for an unknown reason, and was hit by a van.
According to the emergency services, the child died “after a long attempt at resuscitation”. The parents of the young victim, as well as the driver of the van involved in the accident, were taken into care and transported to Montpellier University Hospital.
