100 meter sprint at the Olympics: “Everything is possible” for Thompson-Herah – Sport

Of

Saskia Aleythe, Tokyo

Elaine Thompson-Herah had to celebrate her success alone. Her screams echoed through the Olympic Stadium in Tokyo after she saw her time on the screens, then she hit herself on the legs, sat on the track and puffed. Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce and Shericka Jackson stared at the display from yards away. Thompson-Herah is not exactly popular with her colleagues – when the three Jamaicans were asked to describe their relationship at the press conference after the 100-meter final, there was silence and the water bottles in front of them almost froze.
