Olympic tennis champion Alexander Zverev will definitely not take part in the Davis Cup final tournament this year. “The format has to be changed and I’m sticking to it. I’m someone who already keeps his word. I want to win the Davis Cup, but I want to win the real Davis Cup,” said the 24-year-old from Hamburg at a press conference on Saturday the beginning of the ATP tournament in Vienna. The final tournament of the team competition will be held in Innsbruck, Turin and Madrid in November. Germany meets Austria and Serbia in Innsbruck. The final of the eleven-day event is on December 5th in Madrid. Contrary to what has been practiced for years, the Davis Cup has no longer been held in the respective participating countries over the year since 2019.
