A six-year-old girl was hit by a car in an accident in Central Franconia and taken to the hospital with head injuries. A group of school children, including the girl, ran across the street in Zirndorf (Fürth district) on Tuesday, the police said. A 68-year-old driver waited until the children ran over and then wanted to turn into the street.
At that moment, the six-year-old ran back to the other side of the street when it was green and collided with the woman’s car. The girl was taken to the hospital with suspected life-threatening injuries. There, the wounds on the head were classified as moderate to severe. The 68-year-old was not injured. It was initially unclear why the girl ran across the street again.
