06:50 am: Surprise visit by Zelensky to the Netherlands to visit the ICC in particular
The Ukrainian president arrived in the Netherlands on Wednesday evening for an unexpected visit, during which he is due to visit the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague on Thursday. Volodymyr Zelensky, who is on his first visit to the EU country, landed at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol after attending a Nordic summit in Helsinki, according to Dutch news agency ANP.
The Ukrainian president is due to deliver, also in The Hague, a speech entitled “No peace without justice for Ukraine”, according to the public broadcaster NOS. A meeting with Dutch MPs is planned as well as an interview with Prime Minister Mark Rutte.
