Yuri Andrukhovych’s new novel “Radio Night” – culture

There have long been veterans in civilian life as well. Many rock musicians are part of it, as are some of their fans. In his new novel “Radio Night”, the Ukrainian writer Yuri Andrukhovych puts an aging keyboard player in front of the microphone of an amateur radio station stationed on a nameless island, somewhere where the Prime Meridian approaches the North Pole. Wherever it is, it is a last refuge, a place of exile from where Josip Rotsky sends his messages into the night, stories from his life, the music of his playlist.
