His Achilles heel was his weakness, in every sense of the word. And Saturday night, against Racing 92, his tendon gave way, to the point of depriving him of his end of professional career with the Rouge et Noir. Despite himself, Yoann Huget is therefore condemned to early retirement, he who thought to retire from the field next June, at the end of a last season on the lawn of Ernest-Wallon.

After exams over the weekend, the Stade Toulousain winger was undergoing surgery this afternoon announced his club on social networks.

At 33, this native of Pamiers, in Ariège, has donned the Stade jersey more than 170 times, after making a small detour in the colors of Agen and Aviron Bayonnais. Last fall, the former French international with 62 caps announced that he would retire from the field at the end of the season, citing his injuries and the fragility of this famous tendon.

Saturday evening, at the end of the match, all his teammates feared the bad news: “When you are at the end of your career, the injury is an obsession”, underlined his friend Maxime Médard who wanted to believe in a recovery before this summer.
