XXL crocodile “Cassius” – that’s how powerful the record predator is

Watch the video: XXL crocodile Cassius is said to be 120 years old – but his size is the true record.

Cassius is a true giant – the saltwater crocodile is around 5.5 meters long and weighs 1300 kilograms.

Its length even earns the robber an entry in the Guinness Book of Records.

The animal was caught by researchers in northern Australia in 1984 after a farmer complained about the disappearance of cattle.

Around 40 years later, Cassius lives in a crocodile park on Green Island in the Australian region of Queensland.

With regard to its age, there are always record-breaking reports – the animal is attested an age of up to 120 years.

But those claims carry little weight, according to park official Toody Scott:

“There is no way of knowing Cassius’ exact age because he was born in the wild and his age is only an estimate.” — Toody Scott, Marineland Crocodile Park vs. “Live Science”

According to crocodile researcher Grahame Webb, Cassius is still growing and offers researchers the opportunity to gather “serious knowledge about longevity”. (Source: LiveScience)
