The Bürgerspital Foundation is the sponsor of several retirement homes and a large employer in Würzburg. And owner of many properties. Mayor Christian Schuchardt is on the board of the foundation. Until now, however, he had no idea that the ownership situation was particularly spicy.

In September, the Würzburg public prosecutor’s office searched the fraternity house of the Teutonia Prague fraternity in Würzburg. After the discovery of numerous Nazi memorabilia, it is investigating six suspects – including AfD member of the state parliament Daniel Halemba, 22 – on suspicion of incitement to hatred and the use of symbols of unconstitutional and terrorist organizations.
