According to police reports, a walker escaped a robbery in Lower Franconia thanks to his smartphone. As the police announced on Tuesday, a 14- and a 17-year-old had asked the 25-year-old walker in the Ringpark in Würzburg on Monday to hand them a cigarette, money and his backpack. Then one of the robbers tried to snatch his backpack from the man.
The victim defended himself and called the police via voice command on his smartphone. When the young attackers heard the phrase “Hey Siri, call the police,” they immediately fled, a police spokesman said. A short time later, the police caught the two robbers and arrested them for the time being.
