Wrong-way driver truck causes an accident on the A94 motorway – Munich

An accident between a car and a truck occurred on Friday morning at just before 7 a.m. on the A94 in the direction of Passau near the Riem junction. The 43-year-old driver of the car was trapped between the crash barrier and the truck; she had to be rescued from her car by the fire brigade via the tailgate. She was then taken to hospital for further evaluation, initially with only minor injuries. According to the fire department, the 42-year-old truck driver was not injured.

As the traffic police in Hohenbrunn announced, the truck driver initially drove against the direction of travel on the exit lane at the Riem junction. When trying to turn his 7.5-ton truck over the green verge, he failed to see the woman from Munich approaching on the main lane. The truck drove into the right side of the car and pushed it into the guardrail on the left side of the road. Because of the accident, the Autobahn in the direction of Passau was completely closed for around three hours. The traffic police put the total damage at around 27,000 euros.
