Märtens swims the 200 meter freestyle in fourth place
After bronze in the 400 meter freestyle, Lukas Märtens also wanted World Championship medals in the half distance. That failed.
The man from Magdeburg was seven hundredths of a second behind third-placed Luke Hobson from the USA. The South Korean Hwang Sunwoo became world champion after finishing in 1:44.75 minutes. Lithuanian Danas Rapsys took silver.
Rafael Miroslaw, the second DSV starter in this final, took fifth place. With fourth place, Märtens managed direct Olympic qualification at this distance.
