The Nordic Combined World Cup doesn’t currently offer much variety: Norway dominates, and the German team hasn’t made it to the podium yet.

Norway around long-time winner Gyda Westvold Hansen and exceptional talent Jarl Magnus Riiber continues to dominate the Nordic combination.

The 21-year-old Westvold Hansen secured her second win in the second race of the season in Lillehammer and now has 19 of the last 20 World Cup race won. Like the day before, their compatriots Ida Marie Hagen and Mari Leinan Lund took second and third place.

After a normal hill jump and the following five-kilometer run, Germany had four athletes in the top ten: Nathalie Armbruster (6th), Svenja Würth (8th), Jenny Nowak (9th) and Maria Gerboth (10th). Among the men, Julian Schmid finished fourth as the best German. “We’re getting closer from weekend to weekend. I’m very proud of the boys. They gave it their all again, that’s what we wanted to see,” said coach Eric Frenzel on ZDF.

Victory once again went to Riiber, who circled alone in the snow of Lillehammer. Behind the yellow wearer, Jens Luuras Oftebro and Jörgen Graabak (both Norway) also made it onto the podium.
