Fans and national team honor the seriously ill Pelé

They unfurled a banner showing an image of Pelé, the greatest footballer of all time and Brazil’s national icon. Edson Arantes do Nascimento, Pelé’s real name, was hospitalized in Sao Paulo again a few days ago. The 82-year-old has cancer and has been receiving medical treatment for a long time. If you believe media reports, the last days of the three-time world champion have dawned, his family vehemently denied such rumors. Nevertheless, it can be said that Pelé is not doing well. During the game, Brazilian fans dedicated another special campaign to him. To commemorate the former Seleção number 10, they unveiled a flag with the idol’s likeness ten minutes into the round of 16 against South Korea. The 82-year-old himself has meanwhile reported via Instagram and reported that he is strong and full of hope.
