A 58-year-old worker in Lower Franconia was seriously injured in an accident during sewer work. The man was working in an excavation pit in Obernburg am Main (Miltenberg district) on Wednesday when he was hit by an excavator shovel on the foot for reasons that have not yet been clarified, the police said. He was flown to a hospital with serious injuries. A preliminary investigation into negligent bodily harm was initiated against the 44-year-old excavator driver.
