When asked whether the association was currently in discussions with the 55-year-old, a spokeswoman replied to a dpa query: “Currently, communication is primarily taking place through Martina Voss-Tecklenburg’s legal representation.” The national coach has now recovered and announced on Tuesday via social networks that she was internally coming to terms with the early end of the World Cup.

The DFB wrote: “We would like to make it clear that Martina Voss-Tecklenburg has informed us that she will only be available for a personal interview after her vacation after a period of reflection. We have of course respected this and planned it accordingly.
