In the top game of the women’s Bundesliga, the defending champions from Munich clearly prevailed over Wolfsburg. There is a very clear trend in the championship.

In the top game of the Bundesliga, the footballers of FC Bayern took a big step towards successfully defending their title. The still unbeaten league leaders clearly won 4-0 (0-0) against second-placed VfL Wolfsburg.

The Munich team extended their lead to seven points with five matchdays remaining. Former Wolfsburg player Pernille Harder (48th minute), Klara Bühl (57th), Lea Schüller (76th) and Georgia Stanway (87th) scored in front of 24,437 spectators in Wolfsburg, including national coach Horst Hrubesch.

After a disjointed start with mistakes on both sides, the favorites from the south initially had a clearer path to the goal. National player Giulia Gwinn hit the crossbar after four minutes. But the she-wolves were also always dangerous at the beginning. Sveindis Jonsdottir narrowly missed the goal.

Then Wolfsburg suffered its first setback early on: national player Marina Hegering was injured without any influence from the opponent and had to be substituted after just under 20 minutes. Wolfsburg also had to do without Alexandra Popp (knee problems).

The Munich team came out of halftime better. After VfL lost the ball, Bayern’s Klara Bühl was quickest, drove the ball forward and passed it to former Wolfsburg player Harder, who scored unstoppable with a deflected shot. Only a short time later Bühl increased the score to 2-0. The offensive player delivered a corner kick precisely to the second post and scored directly. Schüller and Stanway ensured VfL’s clear defeat.
