A young woman, suspected of having hit an Italian 32-year-old on an electric scooter in Paris, who died of her injuries, was indicted on Saturday and placed under judicial supervision, we learned from the Paris prosecutor’s office.
Arrested Thursday at the same time as another young woman, she was indicted for “manslaughter aggravated by two circumstances”, the hit-and-run and a deliberate breach of an obligation of safety or prudence. According to two sources close to the investigation, it is a nurse. The other person, for his part, came out free from police custody on Friday.
The circumstances of the accident
This accident occurred shortly after midnight on June 14 on a pedestrian alley along the Seine, in the heart of Paris, according to a police source. About fifty people were gathered there. Among them, a 32-year-old Italian woman, who had just joined work colleagues. She was chatting with a friend when she was violently hit by an electric scooter driven by two young women, who had fled.
Taken to hospital in very serious condition, with her life-threatening prognosis, the victim, Miriam S., born in Rome and living in Paris, died on June 16 from her injuries. Ten days after the accident, the alleged driver and passenger of the machine were arrested and taken into police custody.
