Immediately after Stuttgart’s 1-0 lead through Guirassy (22nd), Kovac brought his attacker Omar Marmoush to the sidelines and spoke to the Egyptian. Barely a minute later, the striker scored the temporary 1-1 equalizer (23′).
Marmoush, of all people, who was loaned to Stuttgart by the Wolves last season and contributed 3 goals and five assists in 21 games to keep the Swabians in the league. His goal celebration is almost apologetic afterwards.
But there is real Wolfsburg jubilation after the final whistle. Because with goals from Arnold (38th) and Gerhardt (90+1st) the wolves finally celebrate their first home win of the season. Stuttgart comes through Mavropanos (45 + 1) only for an interim 2-2 equaliser.
