The police stopped a 59-year-old driver in Wolfsburg – and measured his alcohol level. The result: 1.96 per mille. The driver’s excuse made even the experienced police officers smile.

According to the police, even experienced officers smiled at such a strange excuse: A driver’s breath alcohol level was 1.96 per mille Wolfsburg explained that he had allegedly eaten half a kilo of rum balls.

According to police reports, the 59-year-old was driven into a stationary traffic stop at around 12:56 a.m. and stopped. As soon as he got out of his car, the officers could smell the alcohol on his breath, and the man also showed signs of failure. After the breath alcohol test, a blood sample was taken from him in the Wolfsburg clinic. He had to hand over his driver’s license and his car keys.
