The project had already been discussed in advance in the building committee and recommended to the city council with three dissenting votes. The previous skeptics repeated their view of things almost word for word in the city council: Richard Kugler (Wolfratshauser Liste) was of the opinion that the many vacant roofs should first be used for such systems, and that green spaces are generally better used nowadays for growing food. Renate Tilke (CSU) emphasized that “nature is important” to her. Of course, photovoltaics are good for generating energy. But now there are so few green spaces in Wolfratshausen. And that’s why it’s important to her “to do something with the roofs first”. Her faction colleague Claudia Drexl-Weile thought the thing about the roofs was true. “But that’s no reason not to agree to the project.”
Fritz Schneller (SPD) saw his patience strained by these arguments. He said briefly and concisely: “We should finally get down to business. And Hans Schmidt (Greens) recalled a unanimous decision from 2016, with which an ambitious energy use plan had been passed. Its aim was to have the Raising the share of electricity from renewable energies from 16 to 92 percent. This plan was a “failure with a crash”. It is still at 16 percent and is therefore the last in the district. It is all the more necessary to implement such lofty goals, “because we need the energy turnaround, we need more renewable energy”, Schmidt campaigned urgently for approval of the photovoltaic project. With only three dissenting votes, Mayor Klaus Heilinglechner (BVW) was commissioned to rededicate the area, which is designated as agricultural area, in the land use plan It should then be titled “Area for plants for generating electricity from renewable energies – solar energy”. Finally, a project-related development plan and, in the further course of the process, a development plan are to be developed.
