Wolfgang Petersen, director of the German world hit “Das Boot” and numerous Hollywood blockbusters such as “Outbreak” or “Air Force One”, is dead. He died in Los Angeles at the age of 81.

The director Wolfgang Petersen achieved his first major successes with “Tatort”, as a brilliant film narrator with a sense of drama and challenging, previously unseen material.
