WM: DFB team resides in Qatar in the hotel “Zulal Wellness Resort” – sport

The German national team will be staying at the Zulal Wellness Resort during the World Cup in Qatar. The association announced this on Wednesday. The hotel complex, which only opened this year, is located on the north coast of the country on the Persian Gulf. “In Al-Ruwais we have everything we need for an optimal Team Base Camp: a short journey to the Al-Shamal training ground, the best training conditions to be able to work in a concentrated and intensive manner and a wonderful ambience in the hotel,” said national coach Hansi flick.

The training sessions of the DFB team will take place in the stadium of the first division club Al-Shamal SC, which is only a few minutes away from the hotel. The media center will also be built there. “We want to offer our team the best possible conditions for a successful tournament. By choosing this facility, we have met almost all of our requirements and needs for a team hotel,” added DFB director Oliver Bierhoff. They want to “develop a spirit that will carry us through the tournament – for as long as possible. We can focus on our big task there.”

After this “important decision” was made, so Flick, “we can concentrate fully on the sporting area. In June and September, exciting tasks await us in the Nations League with England, Italy and Hungary, with the help of which we want to develop further to be ready when the World Cup starts.”

The resort is around an hour’s drive from Qatar’s capital, Doha. In the Zulal, the DFB entourage will live in their own area, separated from the rest of the hotel operations. The national team travels to Qatar on November 17th. Germany is playing in group E of the World Cup with Japan and Spain. The third opponent will be determined in mid-June in a play-off match between New Zealand and Costa Rica.
