Witness to an attack, the prefect takes matters in hand

Appointed prefect of Gard in August, Jérôme Bonet has clearly not forgotten his years spent in the national police. Called for violence committed by a man against his partner near the Nîmes SNCF station, the police were surprised to discover the identity of the protagonists and witnesses present.

On the scene was the state representative. Even before the police arrived, he decided to take matters into his own hands by intervening to stop the attack. After bringing the victim to safety, the former central director of the judicial police managed the violent companion until help arrived. Aged 23, the latter was placed in police custody.
