The replacement program for James Corden’s “Late Late Show” has been found. The presenter chose Stephen Colbert himself.

The American TV program cannot do without its famous late night shows. After yourself James Corden (45) said goodbye to his “Late Late Show” (2015-2023) in April of this year after nine seasons, the broadcaster CBS has now developed a replacement program: At the beginning of 2024, the show “After Midnight” will replace Corden’s previous broadcast slot Take the show. A new moderator has also already been found.

Stephen Colbert introduces the new presenter

This is the comedian Taylor Tomlinson (29). The US stand-up comedienne was yesterday, Wednesday on “The Late Show” by Stephen Colbert (59), who is one of the executive producers of “After Midnight”.

“The show needs someone who is funny, personable, young, in touch with online trends and available every night of the week,” he announced Tomlinson. She is one of his favorite comedians. “I’m so glad you’re taking this on. I’m a big fan,” he said to Tomlinson.

The 29-year-old already has some experience. Because with “Quarter-Life Crisis” (2020) and “Look At You” (2022) she has already published two Netflix stand-up specials. She has also toured the USA with her own program. On Colbert’s show, the 29-year-old joked as she introduced herself to the audience: “I’m almost 30. If you don’t know me, don’t worry, I barely know myself.”

“After Midnight” is based on the late night show “@midnight”, which aired on Comedy Central from October 2013 to August 2017 and was hosted by Chris Hardwick (51). As early as February 2023, it was reported that CBS was considering a revival of the show as a replacement for Corden’s “Late Late Show.”
